What better way to understand how an artist’s research and developments in digital sound may be applied than by listening to a live musical piece! Cléo Palacio-Quintin explained how her interface transforms the data generated by analog-to-midi sensors and processed through her laptop computer. She demonstrated her concept by playing a brief musical interlude on her hyper-instrument.
“I began working on the concept for the instrument while at the conservatory in Lahaie several years ago. In essence, I wanted to be able to digitally process the sound from my instrument and to genuinely control it in real time without having to rely on another interface device.”
