About this demo-conference

[In French]

How to pursue development of research in the field of mobility without increasing the number of access points for fraudsters and computer pirates? Jacques Viau explained the difficulties in trying to ensure the security of new technologies as fast as developers can create them. A genuine ongoing challenge that will only be addressed through global consensus.

“ If you look at the research we conducted yesterday, there were 36 vulnerabilities relating to wireless. And we’re only talking about wireless here [...] I must admit that I find it disturbing that, like any technology, developers are developing technologies faster than our abilities to ensure their security. Security is the ultimate specialisation and it is difficult to isolate and manage comprehensively because of the many factors over which we have no control.”

Jacques Viau – Director, Institut de la Sécurité de l’Information du Québec (ISIQ-CRIM)
