After a short survey of how network technology has evolved, Michel Côté talked about the wide scope and many possibilities for audiovisual applications offered by the RISQ network (Réseau d’Informations Scientifiques du Québec). He sees it as a tool that can bring about new types of collaboration between normally separate fields, such as those of artists and scientific researchers.
« Education is relying more on more on the development of rich content. It’s here that we think the RISQ network, as we envision it, should interact more closely with artists and cultural stakeholders so it can serve as a vehicle for delivering this rich educational content anywhere the network can be accessed. »
