Sophisticated design tools are now readily available to all. But as Benoit Melançon from the NAD Centre argues, it’s still important for young 3-D animators to follow a recognized training program so they can produce quickly and effectively under the pressure of a corporate deadline. They might be able to acquire certain skills on their own, but they’ll learn the best work methods from instructors with real experience on the ground.
«The days of taking a class to get access to the hardware are over. But learning sophisticated, real-world work methods is even more crucial now because the client’s expectations have risen too.»
