for Home Entertainment Applications

[In French]

And finally to close the loop, Bruno Paillard (Director of R&D, D-Box Technologies) explained the importance of sound and motion within the immersive experience. D-Box, whose head office is located in Longueuil, designs and develops high-performance motion systems for household entertainment applications . An important player in the home theatre industry, they recently signed an agreement with Fox Entertainment to integrate the necessary motion control data directly on several Fox DVDs throughout the upcoming year. K inetron actuators (manufactured by D-Box), controlled by motorised pistons located under the home-theatre chairs, are designed to cover the entire range of motions: from subtle movements (such as the gentle bobbing of a rowboat on a lake), to visceral vibrations (such as those caused by the cracking of an iceberg). Obviously, there are a significant number of applications for this type of experience in the video game industry and D-Box is actively negotiating with several of its key players.
