From video productions and artistic performances for multi-screen immersive displays to the development of interactive online projects, Yan Breuleux is a creative force in the field of experimental animation. His series of videos entitled ABC Light, co-produced with composer Alain Thibault (PURFORM), received honourable mention at Ars Electronica, while his work as a performance artist has enabled him to participate in festivals such as: Transmediale, ISEA, Dissonanze, TransArt, Mixed Media and Québec NumériQ. He recently collaborated on the development of Ars Natura, an immersive panorama video project, and the Digital Factory (SAT). His online animations have been presented at Musée du Québec, Musée de Rimouski and the New Museum of Contemporary art of New York.

Hans Richter, Man Ray, Dziga Vertov, Alexandre Alexeieff, Norman McLaren, Stan Brakhage are all pioneers in the field of Experimental Animation. How can the artistic approach used by these innovators be applied to the world of new media? This communication, through the presentation of two projects: Black Box and After Dark, aims to delve into the future of Experimental Animation.
