In 2008 and 2009, following a trend that is well underway in a host of other countries, Canadian telecoms will enter a new phase as they roll out the third generation of cellular phone standards and technology, 3G for short, which will make it possible for Canadians to enjoy more advanced mobile services. Judging from what these services have shown to be possible elsewhere, can we turn this late start to our advantage and apply our creativity to taking things one step further? Mobility, we should remember, is not restricted to the world of information technologies and telecoms.
