Who could have predicted five years ago that the technology used in Hollywood movies for photo-realistic crowd sequences would eventually power Hummvee convoy trainers as well as the latest video games at Future Shop? From the earliest days of 3D animation, Montreal has been at the forefront of technological innovation. Now, the city has emerged as a centre of high-tech development especially with regard to 3D graphics, visual simulation systems, and video games. This talk, including demos, examines the contribution made by local innovators to the games, 3D animation, and military simulation markets.
