Whether it’s to pay for extra-minutes of parking from the office, an on-street movie ticket or a ski-pass right at the door-step of your hotel, our way of interacting with the world surrounding us is evolving quickly. The world of machine-to-machine (M2M) opens a range of possibilities for the users in movement that we are, as well as for the operators. How are we to address the complex of wireless and real-time in an embedded environment, in operating conditions sometimes made hostile by the climate? 8D Technologies has developed technologies that can control all the elements required in the world of wireless M2M, whether it’s in the context of ticketing, parking, vending machines or cellular chargers.
Over the past seventeen years, Isabelle Bettez has developed a reputation that reaches beyond the Canadian borders in the world of Information Technologies. In July 2000, she became President and Chief Executive Officer of 8D Technologies, a firm she jointly owns with Jean-Sébastien Bettez, her brother and business partner – and 8D’s Chief Technology Officer. A graduate of Montreal’s renowned École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC)in marketing and international management, she fully masters the intricate art of successfully commercialising emerging technologies by targeting the most promising applications and high potential markets. Under her leadership, 8D’s technical team has perfected a Machine-to-Machine (M2M) / Point-of-Sale technology that ranks amongst the world’s most advanced for wireless, real-time electronic payment, notably used for large-scale commercial parking applications.
