Even for 3D animation all the references have been established by 2D animators and especially Disney with the famous “Illusion of life” of Ollie Johnston.
But other rules on body movement established for actors exists that can sometime help 3D animators to avoid some mistakes.

At Ubisoft since 1997, he started and directed the Montreal Animation Studio for five years and worked on more than 20 projects (Rayman2, Splinter cell, Prince of Persia, Rainbow six…). He was involved in the motion capture studio creation and is now part of the animation research group at Ubisoft. Before Ubisoft, he did corporal theatre for 12 years for different Theatre Company and by studying the corporal mime technique of Etienne Decroux.
