The health care sector has experienced over the course of the last twenty years an increasing number of operational difficulties, leading to statistical revelations, ten years ago, that shook the medical establishment. As a result, it has been universally accepted that the informatics sector has an essential and key role to play in the renovation of medical practice. Central to these considerations, the computerization of medical records has occupied the best minds in the industry. Another idea prevailing today, is that patients themselves must be
participants in the management of their health and medical information. Medical.MD is working towards the production of forward-thinking solutions to deliver an internet-based, user-friendly platform for personal health management.

Philippe Panzini: Part of the initial team at Softimage, Philippe Panzini was a founding member of Discreet Logic, where he acted, from 1996 to 1999 as its Chief Technology Officer. Philippe Panzini’s being primarily interested in Comupter-Human Interaction, spent four years at Apple Inc. (California) before joining montreal-based Medical.MD as its Chief Technology Officer. At Medical.MD, the challenge is to produce “MedforYou”, a Rich Internet Application targeted at the personal management of medical records. Philippe Panzini was co-awarded in 1998 an Academy Award, by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (Beverly Hills, CA).
